Dan Anixt, Of Counsel is a corporate transactional lawyer with The Sack Law Firm, P.C. He spent the last twenty years serving as a general counsel and corporate executive with Fortune 20 companies, mid-sized enterprises, and venture backed startup companies. In these various roles Dan was responsible for mergers and acquisitions, financing, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, employment matters, and litigation management. Dan’s practice with The Sack Law Firm, P.C. focuses on serving as a fractional general counsel for startups and small enterprises, providing a broad panoply of general counsel services customized to the needs of his clients. Dan’s objective is to provide these services in a cost-effective and efficient manner for his clients.

Prior to joining the Sack Law firm, Dan was Vice President, Corporate Secretary, and General Counsel of Dedrone, a venture backed provider of airspace defense solutions. Serving not only as General Counsel of Dedrone and its head of legal, but as a critical member of its C level team, Dan helped guide Dedrone through a tremendous period of revenue growth, a Series C financing, its acquisition of Aerial Armor, and ultimately Dedrone’s successful $500 million acquisition by Axon Enterprise, a large publicly traded security solutions company.

In the years prior to Dedrone, Dan served as Head of Legal for China Telecom Americas (“CTA”), the Western Hemisphere subsidiary of the global telecommunications conglomerate China Telecom. In that role he managed a multi-faceted legal team of transaction attorneys and litigators and was responsible for the efficient management of a multi-million dollar outside counsel budget. Dan also led CTA through various proceedings involving the Federal Communications Commission’s revocation of CTA’s 214 common carrier license due to CTA’s Chinese ownership.

Dan also served as a director-level attorney at Verizon where he was responsible for negotiating and closing over $1 billion in commercial transactions involving software, security, cloud, and network services over his nine-year tenure with the company. Finally, Dan served as Vice President and Head of Legal for the US, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America for Mitel Networks. At Mitel, Dan managed various transactions, global distribution agreements, government schedule contracts, as well as patent infringement litigation.

Prior to 2005, Dan was in private practice at various law firms including Fried Frank where he practiced in the area of securities and banking law.

Dan is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and approaches legal problems with a focus on process efficiency while never losing sight of his clients’ business needs. His philosophy is that business risks are ultimately the decision of the client, but that Dan’s job is to make sure that decision is well informed.

In his spare time, Dan enjoys reading fiction, taking rides on his Peloton through exotic locations, and traveling with his wife throughout the world. He is considering adopting another rescue hound dog in the near future to keep him company.
